What are you bringing to the hospital?

Post by Care Bear on Fri May 23, 2008 7:49 am

What's going in the diaper bag?

What about your personal bag? What about your partner?

This is what I'm stashing in my diaper bag:
My own diapers, powder, wipes, two binkies, a pair of mittens, a pair of booties, two onesies, two receiving blankets, my natural birth book, my planner, a small bottle, our "First Footprint" claymold... (There's more I'm forgetting, I know it.)

For ourselves, my hubby and I are bringing:
Our Nintendo DSs, my laptop, my own pillow, my blankie, travel sized toothbrush/paste, deodorant, & shampoo & conditioner, hair brush with extra hair ties, our swim suits, change of clothes, my charged digi cam (with extra memory card), our cell phones... (Again I'm sure there's more...)

I want to put as much as I can into the diaper bag, and I'm going to try and take out what I know the hospital will provide, (such as the diapers and wipes.) I don't want it to be like I'm packing for a vacation or something Laughing

I hear a good one to start off with is Enfamil, we bought a thing of that for just in case. But the hospital will give you the diapers and wipes, and definitely the formula, you shouldn't need to bring that with you. I'm not sure about a bottle though? I'd probably still bring that.

lol I need to take that stuff outta my bag too. I want to see that special outfit!
And it depends on how you do, like if you tear a lot and need stitches they'll probably insist you stay, it's really not necessary though..

My hospital gave WB Enfamil. You most likely won't have to bring formula/bottles unless you want a "special" kind of formula, but Enfamil is the "best".

And, you USUALLY stay atleast one day after the baby is born. Up to a week for a c-section. I had to stay from Dec 28th - Dec 30th because I had WB circumized and I had an episotomy (13 stitches)

Why is this?
And you may not need it, remember. Though, you could try asking the doctor to massage the perineum before they resort to cutting.
