When going from strict formula to baby food...
Well Summer is going to be two months old on the 7th (*tear!*) and a friend of mine told me that I could be starting her on baby foods already, and she said it would be beneficial to start as early as possible so we can start spending less on formula.. (Obviously we still aren't on WIC, but that's beside the point.)
Isn't she still too young? I did some googling and the consensus still seems to be like 6 months before baby food is given. I am in no rush to put her on baby foods though and I'm not particularly worried about skimping on buying formula just wet, besides we can afford it right now so we're fine there.. I just want to make sure we're doing everything in the right order. Obviously if she gives us 'signs' that we can start her we will, but I still feel like we should be waiting a few more months.
I dunno, what did you guys do, or what will you do with your little one?

i duno i have heard of ppl introducing solids early, but have been told myself defiantly not until at least 4 if not 6 months of age, because a babies digestive system isnt formed full enough to handle tht type of food.
the signs tht a baby might be ready to try solids is if they arent gaining enough weight off formula alone, or are intrested in ur food and sucking their hands alot.
i duno chickie do wateva makes u feel comfy, maybe ask ur peadtitrin first coz u dont wanna do anything to upset lil Summers tummy?
id weight a lil bit longer just to be on the safe side thou thts just me.

No my mom started feeding all 4 of her kids including me on instant cereal and stuff when we were around a month old and we were very healthy and still are to this day..so if you want to start her on it now go right ahead ignore the doctors their opinions are always too scientific.
as for solids..i dont know what to tell ya..

I think we'll start putting that cereal stuff in her bottles next month or try the spoon, not sure yet!

I didn't even start cereal until Wyatt was 5 months, but I think American and Canadian doctors are different in what they recomend...
I think she's still too young to be on baby FOOD... Maybe some cereal, no food though.

Yeah I am not going to try the foods until like 6 months. I think when she turns 4 months we'll do the cereal. I gave it to her once so far after she turned 3 months but it still felt just a tad early, waiting till 4 mos feels good

Hmm, well I started Ameerah on Gerber stuff (pears, applesauce, peas) when she was 4 months. She got rice in the bottle at like 3ish months.I was always WAY afraid of her choking.
